Paper Airplane Activity

How to Build a Paper Jet Model.

Engineering Principles:

• Drag – Also known as wind resistance.  This is the force caused by air acting in the opposite direction of motion.
• Lift – The pressure differential caused by air flowing over and under the wing.

Activities to demonstrate these principles:

• Change the shape of the plane and wings
• Add weight to different areas of the plane (tip – use paperclips, tape, etc.)
• Air races to see which plane flies further
