The National Institute for Aviation Research at Wichita
State University reserves several days throughout the year for public
tours.

Tour groups will have the opportunity to visit the following laboratories:

Crash Dynamics
Advanced Joining
Aerodynamics (Walter H. Beech Wind Tunnel)
Virtual Reality
Tours
of other NIAR laboratories will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Many of
our laboratories perform proprietary research for clients on a daily basis
and, therefore, may not be available for tours.
Tour
Guidelines:
Public tours will be offered from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tour requests must
made four weeks in advance.
Visitor Requirements:
Due to the technical nature of our laboratories, we do not recommend
the tour for young children. Space in our laboratories is limited, which
makes it difficult to accommodate extremely large groups. Please consider
the following requirements before scheduling a tour:
minimum of 12 years of age (seventh grade or above);
minimum of 8 visitors, maximum of 20 visitors per group;
maximum of 2 groups per day.
